Not a DPS race — a hold objective
Capture enemy camp tasks appear in campaign progression as timed hold objectives, not raw damage checks. You prepare during day phase, move only when the base can survive without your duck on the front line, and maintain control of the camp circle until the timer completes.
Rushing the camp before towers and walls are stable causes double failures: the camp resets and the base collapses. Read the capture camp walkthrough for stage ordering alongside this guide.
Day-phase preparation checklist
Maximize chokepoint towers and wall levels on the home base before advancing. Place extra control — EMP, freeze heroes, slow skills — because camp holds attract fast sub-waves. Economy should be sufficient that you are not borrowing gold from defense slots.
If nights are still barely surviving, fix that first via the tower defense guide before attempting camp captures.
During the hold
Stay inside the camp radius unless mechanics require kiting elites away. Prioritize skills that stop leaks into the camp zone rather than boss burst that ignores add waves. Control support from Mir or frost skills buys the seconds hold timers need.
Team templates with fortress defense and EMP support are listed on the best team page under stable defense variants.
